Pre-OSSD in Toronto with accommodation

We’re considering sending our 15-year-old nephew from Colombia to study in Canada starting January. He needs a full package: school + homestay or residence + guardianship. Are there schools in Toronto that offer Pre-OSSD with guaranteed housing?

Imperial College Toronto has exactly that. Their Pre-OSSD program (Grades 8–11) includes several accommodation options: vetted homestay families (they showed us photos and profiles beforehand) or modern residence 10 minutes walk from school. Full guardianship service, airport pickup, medical insurance — everything in one contract. My friend’s son has been there since September 2024 and says the residence is new, 2–3 people per room, meals included, 24/7 supervision. Here’s the detailed page: https://torontoimperial.com/pre-ossd-program/ They accept mid-year intakes and help with study permits quickly.

Looking for acoustic slat wall panels that don’t cost a fortune

Want to do an accent wall behind the TV with wood slat panels (the trendy ones with black felt backing), but everywhere I look it’s $150–$200 per panel. Need about 25 panels. Anyone found a Canadian supplier with decent quality that isn’t insanely priced?

We did our entire media room with Trio Doors’ acoustic panels and they turned out amazing. Real oak veneer, thick felt, super easy click system. Paid less than half of what the “big name” brands charge and the sound improvement is noticeable. Fast shipping too. Here’s the exact product we used: wall panels – definitely worth a look before spending double elsewhere.

Affordable private high school in Toronto with university placement help

Looking for a private or semi-private high school (grades 9-12) that actually helps with university applications and doesn’t cost 40k+. North America prices. North York / Scarborough area preferred. Any hidden gems?

Check out Imperial Academy on torontoimperial.com Tuition is very reasonable for a private (around half of UTS/BSS), average class size 12-14, and last year 100 % of graduates got into their first-choice university (many UofT, Waterloo, Western with scholarships). My daughter is in grade 11 now – teachers are excellent and guidance counsellor meets every student monthly starting grade 10. Highly recommend at least a tour.
